Group Tours

Educational tours are available to groups during our regular hours for a fee of $60 to help cover staff costs. Tours include a 10-minute video introduction and a brief history of the HMSC and adjacent laboratories, as well as information about the themes, concepts and research represented in the exhibits you see.

Your group can also opt to explore the center at your own pace, after a brief introduction by our staff. Such self-guided tours typically take between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on the group's interest. For groups of 12 or more; there is a $1 per person fee. All groups are encouraged to make a donation to help support the center and its programs.

When the center is closed to the public, you can arrange in advance for a private group tour with an educator on hand to answer your questions for a fee of $1/person/hour, with a minimum $25 fee.

Our volunteers and staff strive to provide every curious visitor with a friendly interpretive visit. To assist them in that goal, we require at least one week's advance notice for groups of more than a dozen people.

Guidelines for youth tours:

(For groups of 12 or more)
Chaperones:

  • Please bring one chaperone per five students
  • Ensure that chaperones stay with students at all times during visit
