Bookmark this page for information about Fall Home-School Day programming and registration; in the meantime, here are the kinds of activities we usually offer:

Working in teams, students will use the information they learned earlier to identify the possible habitat of their mystery fish.

Fish Adaptation Experiment

Students will perform an experiment to better understand camouflage.

Craft Activities

Salmon Lab In this lab, students become fisheries biologists to conduct a mock stream survey and identify salmon fry by using the same techniques HMSC scientists use.
Marlins only (Grades 6-8)

Fish Dissection Lab

In teams, students will dissect different species of fish to better understand form and function.

Plan ahead:

HMSC’s next Home School Event, with new labs, presentations and activities, will be held Friday, September 19, 2008 (note date change).
